This is one of my absolute favorite books to read! Being Wendy by Fran Drescher tells the story of a young girl that can't decide who she wants to be when she grows up. She lives in a town called Boxville, where everyone wears a box describing their career. She is full of ideas and cannot decide on just one career to write on her box, so she chooses to not wear a box...which causes quite a stir!
Kelso joined me for this story wearing his own box. He's undecided between a counselor, environmentalist or zoologist.
I then shared what my box would be labeled with.
Students thought about what interests they have, then each created their own self wearing a box:
